MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Quinn Simmons at 7:00 p.m. in the City Building at 2135 South
Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho. Steve Richards led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Ron Folsom, Planning Director

MINUTES:
November 3, 2010: Commissioner Greg Maeser motioned to approve the minutes, after correcting
one instance of Commissioner Cindy Donovan’s last name that was misspelled as “Donavan”. Commissioner Tom
Hunsaker seconded the motion. All in favor – the motion passed.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
None
ACTION ITEMS:
1. Election of Officers (Chairman and Vice-Chairman):
Commissioner Steve Richards nominated Quinn
Simmons for Chairman. Commissioner Rick Butler seconded the motion. All in favor - the motion passed.

Commissioner Quinn Simmons nominated Commissioner Steve Richards for Vice-Chairman. Commissioner
Greg Maeser seconded the motion. All in favor – the motion passed.
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
1. Wind Turbines
Commissioner Tom Hunsaker had information from the County on what they had agreed
upon for the residential turbines. Discussion ensued as to whether the City should allow the turbines at all. The
Commission agreed they are very interested in going forward with regulating wind turbines in residential areas;
however they would like additional education on turbines before allowing them.
2. Comprehensive Plan Draft
: Ron would like the Commission to review the comprehensive plan draft and talk
about it at a later date when the comprehensive plan map is converted to an electronic version.
3. Individual Bios for Website:
Ron would like to remind the Commission to get their bios in for the City’s
website.
REPORTS:
1. City Council Actions -
Ron informed the Commission on what has happened during the Council’s last two
months of sessions.
2. City of Idaho Falls Planning and Zoning Actions
– Cindy Donovan stated she had nothing to report.
3. Bonneville County Planning and Zoning Actions
– The report on County actions was postponed.
CALL FOR ADJOURNMENT:
Commissioner Robert Taylor moved for adjournment. Commissioner Scott Wessel seconded the motion.
All in favor – the motion passed.
The meeting adjourned at 8:17 p.m.
