CITY OF AMMON PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION May 13, 1998 Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Kevin Murray at 6:35 P.M. in the City Building at 2135 South Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho. MEMBERS PRESENT: Kevin Murray, Chairman Dick Bybee Ron Folsom, Vice Chairman Elaine McGary Randy Waite Maxine Hardy Karen Anderson MEMBERS NOT PRESENT: Kirt Hillam Greg Maeser CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: David E. Benton, City Engineer Ira Hall, City Council Rep. Barbara J. Ellis, Deputy Clerk David Wadsworth, Public Works . Garth Cunningham Sherry Murray Dick Skidmore OTHERS PRESENT: Randy Skidmore Melvin Wheeler Brelt Skidmore Kevin Murray led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The first item discussed on the agenda was Mountain River Engineering - Preliminary Plat. Garth Cunningham explained his desire to annex property on the southeast comer of Sunnyside and Hilt Roads. He would like to divide the lots to include C-l (Commercial), R3-A (Residence) which would allow Professional Buildings, and R-2 (Residence) which would allow Townhouses. Dick Skidmore stated that they were considering Idaho Falls for annexation also, and that they just wanted a feel for the zoning and to know if Ammon wanted them. He talked to Darwin Judy and Ferrell Wood and neither had any objections. Joe Anderson was also contacted and he saw no problem, legally, with annexing. The commission expressed their concerns about traffic on Sunnyside Road. Dick Skidmore said there would be no Sunnyside Rd. entrances and a light would be installed at the corner of Sunnyside and Hilt Roads. After more discussion regarding buffers and accesses on Hilt Road, the Commission voted unanimously in favor of the project. Chairman Kevin Murray asked Vice-Chairman Ron Folsom to conduct the balance of the . meeting.
