The motion The first item of business was a request by John Fortner, owner of the lot known as Lot 14, Block 2, Meadow Lark Division No. 2 (2040 Midway). The request concerned the permission from Planning and Zoning to allow Mr. Fortner to construct a garage on said property before the principal residence. He stated he intended to place this structure to the rear of his property to allow for storage of construction equipment. After consideration, the commission determined that Mr. Fortner would be allowed to so construct this building with the condition that from the date of the issuance of the permit to construct the garage, he would apply and purchase a permit for the principal residence within a six (6) month time period, and to commence construction on this residence within six (6) months after the issuance of permit. Mr. Fortner agreed to these conditions. . The second item of business was a request for a variance by Ken and Sandi Hunter of 2270 Dove Drive. The request was to construct an addition (garage) to the existing residence with a reduction in the required sideyard. After review of the request, it was determined that the owners, Hunters, did not meet the qualifications of the granting of a variance. The commission suggested they might consider not attaching the building and moving it to the rear of their yard. Mr. Hunter stated he had some other ideas concerning the proposed addition, and he then informed the commission he would take the plans and re-work them.
