Planning Minutes 08/02/1994 . CITY OF AMMON PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION August 2, 1994 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Dick Bybee. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Kathy Dansie. MEMBERS PRESENT: Dick Bybee Dixie Cut forth James Southwick Brian Taylor Kathy Dansie Elaine McGary Roger Stommel MEMBERS ABSENT: Ron Folsom Mark Scrogham OFFICIALS PRESENT: Carol Ragan, D. Clerk David Wadsworth, PWD David Benton, Engineer Greg Maeser, Councilman OTHERS PRESENT: Kevin E. Hungate, 1085 Orlin Drive, Idaho Falls Jackie Chambers, 2250 N. Wingate, Meridian, Idaho 83642 Vickie Hungate, 976 E. 13th Street, Idaho Falls Doug Clifford, 3095 Central Avenue, Ammon Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Powell, 3035 Central Avenue, Ammon Glen Anderson, 4700 Harrison Blvd., Ogden, Utah Mike Marlatt, 288 Plantation, Idaho Falls, Idaho . The minutes of Southwick motioned seconded the motion. June 7, 1994 were presented for approval. Jim they be approved as written. Kathy Dansie Voting was unanimous. The motion carried. The first item of business was a request for a variance by Leonard and Janet Powell, 3035 Central Avenue, Ammon. They asked permission to construct a garage on the side of their house and to diminish the required set back of 30' to 24'. The commission reviewed the request after which Jim Southwick stated that according to Ordinance 11-7-8, they did not qualify for a variance. Mr. Powell stated that he would like to build on in this manner because he felt the addition would blend in better with the existing structure. He presented a list of names that he said had not objected to the proposed addition. The commission felt he did not qualify, therefore Chairman Bybee called for a motion. Jim Southwick motioned to recommend to the city council denial of the request for a variance, citing 11-7-8 of the ordinance, for Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Powell. Kathy Dansie seconded the motion. Voting was unanimous. The motion carried. The second item of business was Anderson Lumber Div. No. 1 final plat presented by Glen Anderson. Mr. Anderson reviewed with the commission the plot plan also, pointing out the various locations of buildings and parking facilities. He stated there would be 174 parking places, stating this was greater than the requirements. . Kevin Hungate, Vickie Hungate, and Jackie Chambers asked if they might make some inquiries. They asked for the exact location of all proposed buildings. The plot plan outlined that for them. Next they asked about an attractive and effective barrier near their property line. Mr. Anderson informed them a chain link fence was planned.
