03.08.2023 Traffic Commission Minutes South 2135 Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho 83406 Minutes Traffic Commission Wednesday, March 8, 2023 Call to Order: Micah Austin, City Administrator In Attendance: Micah Austin, Tracy Bono, Cindy Donovan, Sgt. Kyle Fielding Excused: Clarissa Mueller Minutes: February 8, 2023-Approved Citizen Request: 1. Traffic Citation Appeal-Mathew Martinez (Tabled from February’s meeting)- Mathew was employed with Elite Home Health who instructed him to park in the street. C. Mueller talked with Elite Home Health and made them aware they could not park in the street during a snow event. Motion to void the citation against Mr. Martinez and issue a new citation to Elite Home Health. Motion passed. th Street Division Updates: T. Bono- First St., 17th, and 49 have the most potholes. Kristina Buchan has received 10 claims for vehicle damage due to potholes. Nine of st the claims were from 1 St. All have been denied. It is considered a general liability. They can appeal the decision with the city and ICRMP. As soon as the weather warms up they will start repairing potholes. Action Items: None at this time Updates: 1. Eagle Dr.- one-way street study. Horrocks Engineering has finalized the report. Invite them to come to the meeting next month and show the commission the results. Discussion Items: 1. Sgt. Fielding said the speed sign has definitely helped with speed on Tie Breaker. Windsor would be the next place to put the speed sign on. Ross has one going south. 2. Mayor-Discussed that some cities are lowering speed limits. They are changing speed limits on residential streets from 25 to 20. It has helped keep speeds down. Tracy explained with our roads being so wide lowering the speed limit wouldn’t help. Discussed some possible solutions. South 2135 Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho 83406 3. Mr. Martinez showed up at 9:30 a.m. and was informed that his citation had been dismissed and his employer was getting the citation. 4. Adjourned: 9:42 a.m.
