Recommendation
-Staff recommends: approval
Summary of Analysis
-Idaho Code 50-907(3) requires the City Council to authorize the destruction of records that are
not required to be retained as permanent records and that have met the minimum retention
period provided by the citys record retention schedule and are no longer required by law or for
city business.

Approve
Resolution 2018-008R for destruction of Building Department Residential Plans,
finding it meets state standards for approval.
Deny

it is in conflict with City Ordinance.

Summary of Analysis
-Senate Bill 1274 requires Idaho cities to designate records custodians and alternates to help
members of the public who want to request records.
-City Attorney Scott Hall has reviewed Resolution 2018-009R and has approved the language.

Resolution 2018-009R to Designate the City Clerk as the Records Custodian, and the
Deputy City Clerk as the Alternate Records Custodian.
