The meeting was officially called to order at 8:45 P. M. by Mayor Keith C.
with the following City officials present:

Minutes of the meeting of January 18, 1971, were read and approved. Mayor Turnbow
brdught the. Council up to date on the business of that meeting by reporting that a
letter regarding the promised sewer arrangements in Eastgate Mobile Village had
been sent td. Mr. Brunt by Attorney Anderson with noliresp.ons-e aSIfYlt, . that Judge

Martin has iadvised that fines for violations of City 8r~tinance0can etaYcen ~y the
City Clerk, I and that word has been received from the Census Bureau that Ammon's
official pop~lation count is 2, 545.

MrJ Bento~ presented a proposal made by Mr. Groberg to develop in the Southwick
Addition with paved street but no curb and gutter, which perhaps allows for better
drainage inlthe absence of a storm sewer system. No decision was offered.
A building ~ermit application from Richard Wiemer to construct a garage-type
building in Which to carryon a home heating business was discussed, and it was
determinedithat this proposal meets the requirements of zoning if no employees are
hired as promised.
Councilman Richardson moved that the meeting adjourn; Councilman Davidson
seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 9: 30 P. M., after which monthly claims
were approved for payment and the Council members worked on the proposed annual
budget.

Themeetin~ was called to order at 9:00 P. M. with Mayor Turnbow, all Council
members, and the City Clerk present. After a short discussion of the figures
in~lved, C10uncilman Richardson moved that a proposed budget of $138, 395 for
the year 19 1 for the City of Ammon be accepted so that it can be published.
Co"dncilma Davidson seconded. Voting: Richardson, yes; Swensen, yes;
Anaerson, els; Davidson, yes. Motion carried..
Coljincilma Slwensen moved that the bid of Truck Equipment Sales Company for a
20 ~u. yd. ~arbage unit mounted on a 1971 International Truck for bid price of
$12~ 802. 00,~.0. b. Idaho Falls, be accepted and that the Mayor be authorized to
orQier the s~rne and make the necessary arrangements. Seconded by Councilman
Da,Hdson. Voting: Swensen, yes; Richardson, yes; Davidson, yes; Anderson, yes.
Motion carltied.
CollinciUnan Richardson moved that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Councilman
Davidson. Meeting adjourned at 9: 30 P. M.
