This was originally called to be the regular monthly meeting, but since a
quorum of the Council was not present to take any official action, it was
turned to a special meeting for the purpose of reviewing and discussing
the business at hand as follows:
Since there have been several inquiries lately about putting in trailerhomes,
both singles and in units, and other matters that indicate a more pressing
need forhavirig a city building inspector and recodification of the City
Ordinances, Councilman Lynn Richardson was assigned to work on these items.
Mrs., Cnawford, mother of a city property owner, was given some time to
discuss plans for a small trailer court at Western Avenue and Molen Street.
She was informed of the zoning regulations, etc., that must be considered
and instructed to present more detailed plans at a later date.
Mention was made of the new State Open Burning Regulations which are to
go into effect September 21, and a desire to adopt these rules was indicated.
The proposed plan of Dale Arave to build several new homes just south of
the city limits on South Ross Avenue with city water to be made available
was taken under advisement, and it was decided to have a letter written to
Mr. Arave asking him to send in his street lay-out plans for approval before
proceeding with his project. City Engineer David Benton drafted the required
letter.
Mayor Turnbow reported that special arrangements had been made with
Mrs. Wallace Pendleton for paying a wMer hook-up fee for a trailerhome
on Ammon Road in two payments; also that all city pumps are now in
operation with No. 4 being put back into service on Aug. 7 and No. 1 on
