Minutes iof our monthly meeting of the Ammon City Council was he ld
January 19, 11970 at the Ammon City Hall. Meeting commenced at 7:45 P. M.
Prayer by Councilman: Richardson. Minutes of meeting held Dec. 16th--
Jan. 5th & Jan 7th were read and approved.

Those present were Mayor Kershaw, C. Turnbow, C. Anderson, C.
Swensen & C. Richardson. Also present were Keith Brown, Attorney Joe
'Anderson, Chief Harvey Dann, Patrolman Franklin Ricks, Maintainance
Supt-. Lavern Williams & Clerk Jesse Bunnell.
The Ma~or and Council discussed the forming of a Planning & Zoning
Commission. Mayor Kel"shaw said he would expLOre the possibility of try-
to get some people to serve.
C. Turnbow n'Nlde a motion to approve Douglas Hammer 's App. to
build a shed. Sec. by C. Swensen. Clerk took a vote and all voted in
favor, except C. Anderson who abstained from voting.
C. Turnpow made a motion to table the application of Otto Meng for
construction! of a cabinet shop. For further study of that Mr. Meng may
make applic~tion to re - zone' his property to ~Hght busines s II. Sec. by
C. Richardson. Clerk called for a vote and all voted in favor.
Mayor Kershaw explained that the City of Ammon was obligated to
pay to James Steele of lona $300; as the City's share of the flood control
work, in addition to clearing out the ditch along the- side of Sand Creek
in the spring.

C. Turnbow made a motion that the City pay $2.00 per hour for extra
help on rem~deling City Building. Sec. by C. Swensen. Vote was taken
by clerk. All voted in favor.
C. Swensen made a motion that Mayor Kershaw be authorized to pur-
chase a five drawer file cabinet within 30 days. Sec. by C. Turnbow. Vote
taken by Clerk and all voed in favor.
Mayor Kershaw asked Attorney Joe Anderson what could be done with
the old car i~ front of the City building. He advised the Council to dis~~
of the car, fbr whatever they could get for it.

C. Anderson brought up the need for street signs on Meadow Lane, and
stop signs at Geneva & Samuel and yield signs at Vaughn & Geneva. Referred
to Lavern.
