~Iinutee of the regular monthlJl meeting of the Hayor and Council of the
City of Arrnnon held Honday., September 16, 1968 in the Council chambers.
Heeting convened:.at 8:10 P. H~ Prayer was offered by Councilman Southwick.
Present were Mayor Richardson, Councilmen Leo Heer., Roy Southwick and
Keith Turnbow., Chief Ricks Lavern Williams and Jesse Bunnell.
Hinutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Councilman Southwick introduced MeJ. BroW"!, ,owner of Hel Brown Pump Co.
who was aeked by the Mayor and Council to begin an engineering study of

City Attorney Joe Anderson arrived at 8:50 P. N.
Councilman Southwick introduced Garth Cunningham., who had propoeed to
the City officials that he use part of the well house on Rornrell Lane
for a garage. l1ayor Richardson euggested that Councilman Southwick and Engineer
Dave Benton investigate the feasibility of doing this.
Mayor Richardson asked Councilman Turnbow to complete the results of
Ammon Days to see how much profit was made.
Councilman Tl1rnbow made a motion that Dave Lemons be made chairman of
Ammon DaY5 celebaation for 1969. Counciihrnan Southwick seconded the
motion. The clerk toihk a vote and it was unanimous in favor.
Mayor Richardson asked Councilman Turnbow to follow through and see
that the signs a.J:!e put up at the swimming pool warning of chlorin~ gas.

He asked the Councilmen how they felttao0ut going ahead with the sewer \'
s,.stem and the feeling was that we should wait until Federal aid
available reached about half the total co~t of the project.
Mayor Richardson stated there was a request from the Tops Club to use
the city building each Friday n!ght. The Mayor and Council decided that
if the Club could find a City employee who would corne and stay while
their meeting lasted that it would be alright for them to use the building.
Mayor Richardson said that a bid had been received from Lyn Reimann of
$2053.52 to put a new roof oii'he City building which may be accomplished
in next year's budget.f
Councilman Turnbow made a motion that the swimming pool be painted and
the lanes put in and, that the pool be covered for winter. The motion
was seconded by C01IDcilman Heer. The clerk took a vote and all
Councilmen voted in favoB.
Councilman Heer gave a report of the library use. He stated that at the end of Sept
there were 207 library cards held by residents of Ammon.
Mayor Richardson asked the feeling of the Council concerning lowering
the Mill levy. It was the feeling of the Council that the Mill levy be
left at 17 mills for the year 1968.

The City Clerk announced that the a...sernent roll for Local
Improvement District Nol 4 had been f'led with his office by the
City Engineer and the Committee on streets, which assessment roll
contained, among other things, the number of the assessments, the
names of the owners as known for each tract assessed, the de-
scription of each traEt assessed and the tolal amount of the
assessment and that such assessment roll 1 has been certified to
the Council of the City of Ammon by the Engineer, setting f~rth
such matters. Whereupon, the following resolution was made by
Councilman Southwick and seconded by Councilman Turnbow, ann
adopted by the unanimous vote in the affirmative of all Cooneil,
members present.

Resolved, that the City Cimncil of the City of Ammmn
cause the assessment roll to be filed in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of Ammon and fix Mo~day the
30th day of Septe:,,::l' ~'1968, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. as
the time and the City Hall in the City of Ammon at 3270
Holen Street., Ammon, Idaho, as the place wherein objections
to the assessment roll by property owners in said district
will be heard, and that the City Clerk cause notice to be
given by publication of the notice by three successive
publications in the Post-~igister, the official newspaper
