Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and Council of
the City of Ammon held Monday, April 15, 1968 in the Council chambers.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Richardson at 8:10 P M. Prayer
was offered by Councilman Keith Turnbow.

Present were Mayor Richardson. Councilmen George Wehmann. Leo Heer.
Roy Southwick and Keith Turnbow~ City Attorney Joe Anderson~ ~ity
Engineer David Benton. Maintenance Supt. Lavern Williams and Clerk
Jesse E. Bunnell. Mayor Richardson and the Council discussed going
ahead with the improvements on Msadow Lane and So. Roes. It wae
decided to put this up for bids. Due to the fact that the County
commissioners would not participate with the widening of the bridge
on the Ammon road it wae decided to proceed with this job immediately.
Councilman Wehmann stated that the cost of a shelter for McCowin park
would cost $2187.00 and the cost of a double fire place would be $400.
He also 20 tables an a cost of $30. each were planned for the park.
After thorough diecussion of the needed improvements for the park, it
was decided to forward plans to the State Parks Dept. for approval.
Councilman Turnbow made a motion that the Council approve the plans
for the shelter lights and tables for McCowin park. The motion ~s
seconded by Councilman Heer. A vote was taken by the :JOC ~ Clerk and
it was unanimous in favor of the motion.
Councilman Wehmann stated that Fire Chief Tom Chriswell had been called
to active duty in the reserve and taat Marvin Mcgary had been chosen
as acting Fire .Chief.. which was apprmved by the ffayor and Council.
Councilman Heer gave the monthly report of law enforvement for March
and among other things stated that the fotal ffnes amounted to nearly
$800.00. It wqs dedided to raise the salary of Dennis Westover to
$450..00 per month beginning May 1st. Dennis Shaw's wages_ asauxillaary
policeman were raised to $72.00 per month effective May 1st.
The auual cleanup campaign was set for the first two weeks in May.
A motion was made by Councilman Wehmann and seconded by Councilman
Turnbow to divert $5000 to purchase 30 day Tressury bonds, $5000 to
purchase 60 day Traasury bonds and $5000 to purchase 90 day Treasury
bonds. A vote was taken by the Clerk and all voted in favor of the
motion.
The Mayor and Council checked over the quarterly audit which- had been
prepa.red by Auditor Al Hall. Councilman Wehmann stated that Daryl
Perrefi6ud had submitted a bid to irrigate and mow the lawns on the
Lions park and Falcon park this summer.
The monthly bills were approvedf for payment.
Mayor Richardso declared th eting adjourned at 12:00 P M.

Minutes of a Special meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of
Ammon held April 26. 1968 in the Council chambers. Meeting convened at
7:15 P M. Present were Mayor Richardson, Councilmen Roy Southwick.
Leo Heer. and Keith Turnbow and Clerk Jesse E. Bunnell.

Mayor Richardson stated that the purpose of the meeting was to .canvass
the vote on the recent bond election held April 23. 1968.
A motion was made by Councilma~ Heer and seconded by Councilman Southwick
that the Council certify the results of the bond elettior: ass ~olloW8:
The total vote cast at 631- with 545 against - 83 in favor with 3 ballots
unaccounted for. The Clerk was directed to take a vote. which he did,
and all three Councilmen present voted "Aye".
Mayor Richardson declared the ing adjourned at 7:45 P M.
