Regular Monthly Meeting of the Ammon City Council
December 9, 1963
Meeting called to order by Mayor Reed Molen at 8:00 P.M.
Prayer by Councilman Harold Loveland.

Present: Mayor Reed Molen; Councilmen Harold Loveland, Darrell Long, George
Wehmann; City Clerk Dermont E. Ricks. Councilman Roland Romrell was excused
because of illness. Attorney Joe Anderson also excused.
Minutes of the meeting held November 11, 1963, were read and approved.
Claims were approved and signed.

Water bills for ~he City were discussed. It was the decision of
the City Council that more pressure is to be put on the people to keep their
water bills paid to date. Also those renting apartments will be charged
$4.00 per month for each extra apartment and the landlord will be respon-
sible for the collection of ~ffiter bill.
Bill Brunt met with the City Council to discuss building permits for
five homes being build in the Hillsdale Addition. The City accepted his
building platt, making allowance for one home on Block !I= , Lot ,
built on a corner lot. vdth a 26 ft. set back from the property line to
foundation with a three foot over hang.
Delinquent improvement assessmen~s on District 1 and 2 were discussed.
The City Council requested all delinquent accounts be brought up to date by
January 1, 1964, or they will be issued on the property. Attorney Joe Anderson
to be contacted for details as to the ~roper action to take.

Councilman Long asked as his last request as City Councilman if it
were possible to change the street parking laws in the Hillview Addition.
Mayor Molen stated the parking laws were adopted by the City because the
people of Hillview requested it by petition, and if the majority wanted
it changed it should be done by petition.
Lloyd Tatum, City Auditor, asked the City Council about the old delin-
quent accounts on Improvement District #4, and whether they should be collected
or written off the books. The City suggested that they tr;,{ to be collected.
Mr. Tatum explained why the one mill levy from the County tax had not been
transferred to the bond guarantee fund - 111ack of funds". He also asked
about the architecture fee for the new City buildin~.
Mayor Reed Molen read Ordinance #61 defining the offense and violation
of negligent driving and providing a penalty therefor, and amending Section
9-4, and adopting the change of negligent driving in the City of Ammon.
Councilman Darrell Long made a motion the City adopt Ordinance #61 and waive
the first two readings. Motion seconded by Councilman \Nehmann and it carried.
Y.:onday night, December 30, 1963, at 7: 30 p.m. set as the time for the
hearing on the new zoning map. Notice to be published by Attorney Joe Anderson.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
