Rel7Ular Yonthly Meeting of Ammon City Council
October 2, 1962
Meeting called to order by Mayor Heed Molen at 7;45 p.m. Prayer by
Councilman Harold Loveland.
Present: Mayor Reed Molen, Councilmen Holand Romrell, Harold Loveland, DeVon
Hammer, Darrell Lon~, Also LaVern Williams, and Dermont Ricks, Clerk.
Minuets of previous meetinq, read and approved.
City Council annroved of cleaning up and repcdring the well properties.
LaVern Williams was instructed to neint all the wood work on the Dump houses
and landscane the r;rounds. Councilman Darrell Long sugg;ested the curbs near
the city fire hydrants be painteu red. This was approved by the Council.
Dale Buttars to be resp nsible to get these painted.
Councilman Darrell Long made a motion; the motion he made at the last meeting
insistinr; that Dale Buttars get a phone or be dismissed; be canceled from
the records. The motion was seconded bv Councilman Harold Loveland - motion
carried. .-
Councilman Harold Loveland made a motion that the City of AMmon have all
City officials and dependants, also employees and dependants insured with
the TrTashington National Insurance Company and the City pay the premiums.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Roland Romrell and motion cerried.
City Council annroved the Johnston Pump Comnany go ahead and install anobher
drain pumn on the west end of.Tetop Street to helo take care of the drainage
nroblem there. This is to be paid for by ~. W. Bfunt as pre agreeMents of
last meeting. There was some discussion about imnroving a park near
17th and Falcon Drive to be used for recreation and skating rink. Council-
man Roland Ramrell was asked to contact Ruben Waters and have him level the
nark and get it ready for seeding also grade un a dirt bank aroundt it;
ready for flooding to be used for a skating rink..
Discussed paying expense for Richard Ager to be Deputy Marshall. Council-
m~m Barrell Long made a motion that the City pay him $25.00 a month.
Motion seconded by Councilman DeVon Hammer. Motion carried.
The building nlans for the new City Office, rest rooms, and recreation center
were presented to the City Council by Councilman Harold Loveland for
discussion. He was to get an estimate fo the cost of the building and list
of material and present them at the next meeting.
The bills were presented and approved.
Mr. Sterling Cannon met with the City Council and ask that they accept the
responsibility of the maintenance of water systems and streets in Peterson
Park Addition. After considerable discussion Councilman Roland Romrell
made a ~otion that the water systems and road be dedicated to the City and
they accept them as their responsbiJity to maintaine. Seconded by DeVon Hammer
Motion carried.
