Minutes
Traffic Commission
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023
Call to Order: Micah Austin, City Administrator at 9:10 a.m.
Present: Tracy Bono, Cindy Donovan, Sgt. Kyle Fielding, Micah Austin, Morgan
Stewart
Minutes: July 12, 2023 and August 9, 2023 -Approved
Citizens' Requests:
1. Requesting speed limit signs on Diamond Dr -Citizen is concerned about speeds
coming on to Curlew Dr. She requested signs or a speed trailer. Kyle didn't see
the value in adding signs in that area. Micah stated there is a sign on Curlew
Dr. He agreed with Kyle.
2. Discussion about a 4 -way stop on Curlew Dr and Chasewood Dr helping with
traffic.
Street Division Updates: Signs for Eagle Dr have been ordered and are 4-6 weeks out.
No new No Truck signs have been placed. Speed bumps have been ordered and should
be delivered soon. Micah encouraged urgency. He has received quite a few calls on it.
Tracy added the speed bumps are similar to those at the Costco gas station and
should have a significant impact on speed.
Action Items:
1. Approve roundabout at Derrald Av/Eagle Dr -Rubber curbing is available to
create the roundabout. It will be about $4200 plus the cost of asphalt at about
$4000. I would be similar to 45th E (Crowley Rd)/ 17th St. Discussed if it would
be permanent. It would and it will be installed as soon as it is delivered. Motion
passed.
2. Consideration of 4 -way stop at Millcreek Ln/Clearfield Ln -Micah discussed the
location. The entire neighborhood uses the crosswalks at the intersection with
all the school and church traffic. A traffic study has been ordered. Tony Black
has been researching crosswalks. Uncontrolled crosswalks require some sort of
signage. A 4 -way stop at Millcreek Ln and Clearfield Ln will be put in pending
approval from an engineering study. Motion Passed
Discussion Items:
1. Cindy: White Pine's release time is causing issues. Kyle suggested that White
Pine be required to fix the issue by providing more pickup area.

2. Clarissa: She and Morgan went to check the trees at Judy St/Taylorview Ln.
They conducted a line of sight review and found no concerns.
Kyle: Radar trailers were requested but the department will begin using options
with license plate readers. A setup could be purchased for the City and would
only be used within the City limits. They are planning to purchase one for their
department at $15,158 but it will be used by the whole department. The
commission was in favor of the purchase for the City and would look into
funding options.
