12.13.2023 MinutesAmmon WHERE TOMORROW BEGINS Minutes Traffic Commission Wednesday, December 13, 2023 Call to Order: Cindy Donavon, Planning and Zoning Director at 9:07 a.m. Minutes: November 8, 2023 -Approved Street Division Updates: None at this time. Action Items: Speeding on Ross Ave. -Residents at Geneva Dr/ Ross Ave feel like there is still a lot of speeding. The battery on the flashing speed limit sign may have to be upgraded and replaced. Sgt. Fielding said they can increase patrols. We have done everything we can. No Motion. 2. Traffic concerns on Wildwood Lane (Centennial Ranch) -Ken Bailey at 1606 Wildwood Ln and Terry Baxter at 1632 Wildwood Ln are concerned about speeding and reckless driving. He asked the Mayor if they could have speed bumps. No speed bumps we can put a radar sign out to collect data or put the portable trailer out for speed and traffic count. Sgt. Fielding will try to increase presence there. Discussion Items: 1. The Council's thoughts on parking regulations for the period of the Snow Proclamation and Snow Events -Abatement for residents to shovel sidewalks. No change to parking regulations. 2. Traffic Signal at Midway Ave/ 17th St -No, but will get more data. Morgan -Data doesn't warrant it. Tracy- It is too close to the lights at 17th St/Curlew Dr and 17th St/Ammon Rd. 3. Hillview Village -Data gathered from the speed trailer before the speed bumps were installed and data gathered again 3 weeks after installation showed a drop of 5 mph with no decrease in traffic volume. The speed bumps have been removed for winter. 4. Layout is done for the Roundabout at Derrald Ave/Eagle Dr. Installation will be this spring. Adjourned at 9:33 K� Micah Austin, City Admin.
