3.TheCityCounciloftheCityofAmmonhavediscussedthemaintenanceandconstructionneeds
forstreetsandthoroughfareswithinthemunicipalboundariesoftheCityofAmmon.Basedon
thosediscussions,theCityCouncilhasdeterminedthatatemporarylevyestablishedforthe
purposeofmaintainingexistingstreets,reconstructionofexistingstreets,andmakinggeneral
improvementstothestreetsandthoroughfareswithintheCityofAmmonisnecessaryto
adequatelyservethehealth,safetyandwelfareofthecitizensofAmmon.
4.Basedonlengthyworkshopsanddiscussionwithcitystaffregardingthemaintenanceand
operationalneedsofthestreetsystem,theCityCouncilhasdeterminedthatatemporarylevyin
theamountof$1,250,000peryearisnecessarytomaintain,improve,andreconstructstreets.
5.Resolution2024-015directscitystafftoprepareallnecessarystepstoplacethequestionof
establishingatemporarylevyintheamountof$1,250,000ontheNovember5,2024election.
6.Ifadopted,theballotmeasurewillmoveforwardfortheNovember5,2024election.
FinancialImpact
-Thetemporarylevyisproposedfor$1,250,000.Ifapprovedbythequalifiedelectors,this
amountwouldbededicatedtothemaintenance,operations,andconstructionofthestreetsand
streetsystemswithintheCityofAmmon.
