City employee, John Griffin, who has been designated to work as Animal Control Officer
when needed, reported on the training which he received from the County officer. He
explained the procedure under the state law for taking care of complaints regarding dogs
getting into livestock, and Councilman Williamson recommended th~t the County officer
be called if situations like this occur.. It was mentioned that a .radio set with the
capabilities of having contact with the County law enforcement is to be purchased for
the Animal Control Officer to use when on duty.
Acting Mayor Swensen indicated that a suggestion about changing the medical insurance
coverage for City employees to Blue Cross would be taken under consideration.
In connection with the earthquake which occured in the Mackay-Challis area the previous
Friday, October 28, the Public Works Director reported that there appears to be no damage
to the City water system from the tremor that was felt here, but the Sunnyside Potato
Company lost the water supply in a private well so it was necessary to provide a hook-up
to the City water main for that company.
The City Clerk presented claims to pay totaling $13,362.42 and vouchers for payroll ex-
penditures paid since the previous meeting in the amount of $3,901.16, all of which were
approved.
A motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Monson and seconded by Councilman Williamson,
with voting all in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 P.M.

Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Mayor and City Council:

The meeting was called to order at 8:45 P.M. by Acting Mayor Russell N. Sw.ensen for
the purpose of canvassing the ballots of the General City Election held on Tuesday,
November 8, 198J. Inasmuch as the votes cast for two of the candidates for Mayor were
very close, the ballots were sorted and recounted. The "Combined Tally List and
Official Returns" book was examined and the information on the certified accounting
of the ballots cast was reviewed.
Councilman Williamson moved to approve
