According to Councilman Williamson, a problem with the fire siren was determined to be
from ice formation, and a special thanks should go to Mayor Tom Campbell of the City of
Idaho Falls for authorizing the use of equipment from that City which was needed to get
up to the siren. With the thought in mind of being prepared at times when the siren is
out of operation, Mayor Wehmann suggested that Councilman Williamson try to find out
what kind of a notification system is used by the National Guard in case of emergencies.
Regarding the possibility of having a "Quick Response Unit" in Ammon, as mentioned by
Councilman Williamson at the previous meeting, it was recommended by Mayor Wehmann that
the aspect of liability insurance be looked into when considering this matter.
Public Works Director, Hayse Whiteley, reported that the City equipment is ready to take
care of snow and ice problems as needed. He mentioned that arrangements have been made
to purchase a used sand'..spreader box from Bonneville County.
Ted Sorenson, representing the developer of a proposed County subdivision called Sandway
Village, appeared relative to a development agreement for the project since the property
is in the Ammon impact area. Matters pertaining to standards for streets, water lines,
and sewer lines were discussed, with special emphasis being given to a condition re-
commended by the City officials that pipes and valves for future fire hydrants be
included in the water system. Mr. Sorenson indicated that he would invite the developer
to meet with the Council if the items as discussed are not satisfactory; otherwise, the
agreement is to be typed and ready for action in time for the next meeting.
Claims for payment were approved in the amount of $13,620.17, along with vouchers for
payroll expenditures totaling $4,412.35.
A motion to adjourn was made by Councilwoman Dille and seconded by Councilman Monson;
voting was all in favor; the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
