Call to Order: Cindy Donovan, City Planner at 9:10 a.m.
In Attendance: Cindy Donovan, Tracy Bono, Sgt. Kyle Fielding
Excused: Clarissa Mueller, Micah Austin
Minutes: September 14, 2022-Approved
Citizens’ Requests:
Citizen has a concern when the intersection of 17th Street and Midway might be signalized. He was wondering if we could get some traffic count numbers for this intersection-M. Stewart
will do traffic count.
Street Division Updates:
Replace signs as needed to match Sunnyside/Ammon street signs-Completed
Traffic Signals and Hawk Signal: Replace background plates with more durable background plates-New metal backing is in and is being scheduled for installation with Arco Electric. Traffic
signals are up to code. T. Bono wants to work on a grant for them.
Horrock’s traffic studies for Eagle/Derrald and 1-way streets for Eagle/Salmon-In progress
Action Items:
Signage for the crosswalks at Millcreek/Clearfield-Discussion took place about several different options. Motion to extend sidewalk on the east side of Millcreek to 49th and eliminate
crosswalk at Millcreek/Clearfield. Motion passed. Needs to be done asap.
Discussion Items:
Continue discussion regarding pedestrian safety at crosswalks
Excessive speeds on 47th-The path was taken out by utility work. T. Bono will get the paved as soon as they can. T. Black will look at placement for 25 mph signs for 47th and 21st.
M. Stewart will look at school zone lengths and requirements
Flashing school zone flashing signs are not bright enough and don’t catch your attention at all.
Construction on Crowley- Contractor wants to bring in another crew. Hoping it will be open and paved in the first part of November.
