Fielding Minutes: March 9, 2022-Approved Citizens’ Requests: Residents to discuss traffic/speeding issues on Chasewood. Resident is very concerned about pedestrian safety. There is a high volume of traffic, speeding, passing on both sides and not enough speed/traffic signs. Requested a traffic study for a 4-way stop be done at Chasewood/Midway. Discussed how on street parking, striping, and road width affected speeding. T. Bono-start collecting data and do a speed and intersection study at Chasewood/Tie Breaker and Chasewood/Midway. Hollow Dr drops down coming from Bridgewater to Fox Hollow at Cross Ln making it hard to see- Sgt. Fielding hasn’t seen any problems regarding the elevation. T.Bono will check on it. Mayor-What is the plan to get the cross walk at Match Point/Tie Breaker? It needs repainted asap. T. Bono explained it is too cold. He would rather wait until the beginning of school in August. The Mayor will let the neighbors know but would like to keep talking about it. M. Austin would like to give them an option. T. Bono will look into it. Street Division Updates: T. Bono-Ammon Rd/49th intersection is open. If it is warm enough it will be paved next week. We are street sweeping on Fridays. The contractors at Village Green need to be notified it is their responsibility to sweep debris. Action Items: None at this time Updates: Speeding issue on Windsor-None of the measures implemented have worked. There is nothing else the sheriff’s department can do. When John Adams gets connected and Ammon Rd gets expanded that will make a big difference. 21st/Castelli rapid flashing beacon for crosswalk-It needs to be brought before the Council. A written request needs to be submitted to FHWA. A request for the entire city can be made. It is also cost prohibitive. Tiebreaker School traffic-No complaints have been made. M. Stewart will work with John Pymm to address future issues. White Pines-They have been much more proactive. Things have not gotten any worse. Discussion Items: The Hillcrest school zone bottom light is on but not flashing-ITS will be contacted so it can be fixed. The grant for First St has been submitted and we are in the que. It requires a 20% match from the city. The state is releasing money for obsolete bridges in October. The First St. bridge qualifies. The 17th St. bridge meets the criteria for a replacement grant and is on the list. The flashing speed sign on the north end of Midway doesn’t work. A school zone on Owen St. has been requested. A traffic study can be done to determine if it meets the criteria for an official school zone.
