Council Minutes 04/29/1973 (2) I Q 00 ~ ~ w w I I 3 According to Mayor Turnbow, city employee Jay Reynolds has resigned to gO into business for himself, and applications al"e being taken for a replacement. Councilman Richardson prese'nted a letter of resignation from the Ammon City Council effective April 6, 1973, necessitated by his having accepted employment in Seattle. He expres sed his appreciation of having had the opportunity to serve on the Council for the past three and one-half years, and Mayor Turnbow commended him for the cooperation and dedication shown, and especially for his work on the recodification of the city ordinances and responsibilities taken in representing the city on the Bonneville Council of Gevernments. The need for a replacement for Councilman Richardson on the BCOG was considered by the Council, with Mayor Turnbow recommending Councilman Swensen. Councilman Richardson moved to appoint Councilman Swensen to represent Ammon on the Bonneville Council of Governments; seconded by Councilman Cheney; voting all in favor; motion carried. Councilman Swensen accepted the appointment. In response to an inquiry by Chairman Southwick, it was noted that a deed has been obtained for a 5-foot easement along the front of the property where a home is being built on the new extension of Romrell Lane. Mayor Turnbow referred to an application by Reuben Anderson for a building permit to I place a mobile home on a lot on Meadow Lane, and reported that the Building Permit Committee of the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended a denial of this request on the basis that mobilehomes do not satisfy the requirements of the City Ordinance that all dwellings must meet the Uniform Building Code standards. The Council members indicated support for this decision. The problem of a mobile home now located on Owen Street having been brought in without a permit was discussed, and Councilman Swensen was asked to consult the attorney about the procedure for getting this unit removed. Council Richardson moved to adjourn. Claims were approved for payment. The meeting was adjourned at 10:10 P. M. L4. r . Turnbow at the City Hall with the following present: Mayor Keith C. Turnbow Councilman Marvin J. Anderson Councilman Gerald B. Cheney Councilman Russell N. Swensen Prayer was offered by Mayor Turnbow. A discussion was held in regards to a possible replacement for Councilman Lynn C. Richardson. Mayor Turnbow recommended that the Council reconsider the Building Permit of Everett Wray which was previously denied by the Planning and Zoning Commission and also the Ammon City Council at their last meeting on April 23, 1973. Councilman Swensen moved that the Council reconsider the Bu~lding Permit of Everett Wray, #1484, and that it be approved and that a 2-foot side variance be allowed on the west side of the home. Seconded by Councilman Cheney; Voting--Anderson, yes; Cheney, yes; Swensen, yes; J1lOtion carried. Councilman Swensen moved that the meeting be recessed until 9:00P. M. Monday, April 30, 1973.
