Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Mayor and City Council.
The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P. M. by Mayor Keith C.
the following City officials present:

Councilman Russell N. Swensen
Councilman Gary L. Davidson
Councilman Lynn C. Richardson

Others present at various times during the meeting were Helise Knight, Mr. and
Mr$. R. W. Perusse, D. H. Landon, Jim Southwick, and A. W. Brunt.
Prayer was offered by Councilman Davidson. Minutes of th,e regular meeting of
August 16 and minutes of special meetings of August 23, August 30, and September 13
were read and approved.
R. W. Perusse reviewed the developments in the matter of his request to keep a
number of dogs for which the law requires signed :permission of neighbors and a
keIllnellicense. Since the necessary signatures had been obtained since the last
council meeting, Co/Uncilman Davidson moved that the council recon~ider on the
original denial of the petition and approve the variance to the zoning petition thus
all~wing the Perusses to keep the dogs until such time as they decease or are given
aw~y by the owners.' Seconded by Councilman Swensen. All in favor. Motion carried.

Co~ncilman Davidsaln reported on the closing of the swimming pool and the needs of
thetrecreation depa~tment for the basketball seas on ahead. Engineer Benton told
abo(Ut th~ status of the tennis court construction work.

Req:odification work and the organization meeting of the newly appointed Planning and
ZO:r)ing Commission were reported on by Councilman Richardson. Councilman
Davidson moved that henceforth permits for building and zoning changes and future
co~prehenS1ive planning for the city, including subdivisions, will be sent to the
PlC$ning Commission for their recommendation, advice, and decisions, which will
'be reviewed by the City Council for action. Seconded by Councilman Swensen. All
in favor. Motion cairried.

coqtplaint against thie horse at 2020 Dove Dr.
Cle~ning of the sum~ pumps was discussed and suggestions made to have a larger mesh
on ~he scre~ns and 1:10 have the pumps cleaned out more often to keep them in better
wo~king order.
Th~ Peterscjm Park well is out of order with a broken shaft and will be left until spring
to ~e repai~ed. Mayor Turnbow asked the council members to be thinking of how to
hanldle imp~oving the water system considering that a number of new homes are being
budt, espedially in the Jennie Jean area.
