Opening prayer was offered by <br />Councilman C. Keith Turnbow. Those present upon roll call were as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Mel Richardson, Mayor <br />Leo Heer, Councilman <br />Keith Turnbow, Councilman <br />George Wehmann, Councilman <br />Roy Southwick, Councilman <br /> <br />Also present were Chief of Police, Franklin Ricks, Laverne <br />Williams, Maintenance, Jesse E. Bunnell, Clerk, Attorney W. Joe <br />Anderson and Engineer, Dave Benton. <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />The Mayor recognized the presence of Darrell Long, former City <br />Councilman, as Explorer leader with a group of Scouts and Explorers <br />together with their leaders. The Mayor asked the Clerk to obtain <br />a list of those who were present in such group observing the actions <br />of the City Council and attach the list to the minutes of the meeting. <br />The Mayor and the Councilmen expressed their thanks to the leaders <br />and the boys for attending to observe the actions of the city Council. <br /> <br />The Mayor recognized Harold Loveland, also former City Councilman, <br />and Mr. Thomas Infanger. The Mayor asked Mr. Loveland to present the <br />matter of business which he had for the Council. Mr. Loveland stated <br />that he and Mr. Infanger were the owners of property in the Peterson <br />Park Addition to the City of Ammon and that a portion thereof con- <br />sisting of approximately four acres was unimproved and available for <br />purchase by the City for a park in that area of the City. He stated <br />that the dimensions of the area was 355 feet by 410 feet and that a <br />price had been established for such area of $10,650.00. After some <br />discussion the Mayor suggested to Mr. Loveland that he consider a more <br />definite proposal of how he could sell the land for park purposes to <br />the City as to the conditions and terms and submit a further offer at <br />a later meeting. Mr. Loveland do this. <br /> <br />Mayor Richardson reported to the Council the current status of <br />the flood threat and stated that there definitely was a danger of <br />flooding if there should be rainstorms and the weather turned unduly <br />warm, <br />
